Welcome to LGBT of Walworth County
Our mission is to establish a network of professionals, parents, schools, individuals, and community organizations whose goal will be to provide resources, education, and support for members, families, and friends of the LGBTQ community in Walworth County.

Those of you who are regular visitors may remember a survey a few months ago. One of the things we wanted to know was how we could serve the county's LGBTQ community. A strong majority indicated they'd like to see social events. To that end, we've teamed up with the UU Church of the Lakes in Elkhorn for an LGBTQ open house on June 1st, to coincide with the season finale of the church's LGBT film series. A more detailed description is on the May/June Highlights page. It's still in the planning stage; we'll be updating the page as we finalize things. We're hoping this will give us a chance to chat and perhaps discuss ideas for the direction in which we should head. Some of you may have ideas of how you could be more involved.
With the LGBT Film Series winding down, we're already looking for movies for the next season. The purpose of the movies is to entertain, enlighten, and stimulate discussion. We show both feature films, short features, and documentaries convering the entire spectrum of the LGBTQ community. We'd like input from you as to what movies you might like to see. (We're already hoping we'll be able to show Bully). Please feel free to send suggestions via the contact us page. Or, if you go to the blog you can make comments and/or check out what others have said.

"To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you like everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting."

LGBT of Walworth County is allied with the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Lakes in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. It's welcoming designation means that it openly welcomes and supports members of and issues related to the LGBT community. It offers a site for support groups, LGBT services throughout the year, and hosts an LGBT film series. It's newsletter runs a monthly op-ed LGBT column, "The Rainbow Connection."
