For the LGBTQ community, 2020 saw some positives.....
  • more LGBTQ individuals elected to office than ever before
  • Supreme Court upheld right of trans students to use appropriate restrooms
  • Supreme Court upheld right of same sex couples to adopt
  • The Supreme Court ruled that LGBTQ employees are protected by civil rights employment statutes.
  • some states made it easier for residents to change name and gender on documentation
  • court ruling that a transgender individual in prison had the right to gender reaffirming surgery
  • many more LGBTQ characters in television shows and movies portrayed in a positive light
  • actor Elliot Page (Umbrella Academy, Juno) comes out as trans.
  • Global Interfaith Commission came out against violence and criminalization of LGBTQ people
  • more than 370 religious leaders called for a ban on conversion therapy​
